JAMES RIVER, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid form with flat-top rounded rim, beaded neck ring, double incised shoulder rings, and applied arched handles. Brushed cobalt opposing leaf decoration on each side executed in a stencil-like manner, additional cobalt at handle terminals.
Condition:
Mostly undamaged, having faint hairline extending from base to medial body.
Circa : 1840-1860.
