SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA STONEWARE MINIATURE / TEST CROCK, salt-glazed, wide-mouth form with an incised ring below the thin, flanged rim and a beveled edge to foot, incised "Not / mixed / at / all" under base. Used as part of a test when trying new clay sources or different mixtures of clay.
Condition:
Three sections glued with associated two chips to rim and small interior loss at one crack.
Circa : 1860-1890.
