STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC SOUP TUREEN AND UNDERTRAY, tureen featuring "BELLVILLE / ON THE PASSAIC RIVER", as printed to underside, depicting sailboats on calm water with a fisherman in foreground and church-like structure in background, cover featuring New York Bay scene, and tray featuring "HOPE MILL CATSKILL / STATE OF NEW YORK", as printed to underside, depicting a waterfall with several structures on right and figure in a flat-bottomed boat in foreground. Additional marks to underside include printed American eagle with shield and banner with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and impressed "WOOD".
Condition : Excellent condition, undertray having minute flake to underside of rim; tureen with minor rim hairline not noticeable due to decoration, a minute flake to underside of one handle, and some light discoloration to interior. Manufacturing flaws, including stilt marks, as made.
