WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA STENCILED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, designated three-gallon capacity, slightly ovoid form with flat-top rounded rim, beaded neck ring, applied arched handles, and Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "Stephen H. Ward. / West Brownsville. Pa", stenciled design above and below, additional cobalt at handle terminals.

Condition: Excellent condition having two minor flakes to rim interior. Manufacturing flaws including glaze flakes to handle corners, probably as made.

Circa : Circa 1875.
