The original printing plate for the present portraits is in the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA) collection, Winston-Salem, NC. While these portraits have been reproduced in several publications, this is the only original strike that we were able to locate. The importance of Rev. Paul Henkel (1754-1825) have been widely recognized. He is considered the father of Lutheran ministry in the South.
