Jeff and Beverley Evans took over Green Valley Auction from Jeff’s parents in 1979 during their senior year of high school. In 1995 Jeff established the Catalogue Department of Green Valley and over the next 13 years grew it into a widely recognized and highly respected regional auction house. It was during this period that Jeff sold the Johannes Spitler paint-decorated hanging cupboard, discovered by William McGuffin for $962,500.00. The price still stands as a record for a piece of American folk-art painted furniture and any piece of Southern decorative art.

In 2009, Jeff and Beverley withdrew the catalogue Department from Green Valley and established Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates (read the press release). The 7500 square foot gallery built in 2009 was added onto in 2015 in order to handle the vast quantity of consignments.
