JSE & ASSOCIATES FALL ANTIQUES, FINE & DECORATIVE ARTS AUCTION TO INCLUDE RARITIES FROM THE LITLE COLLECTION

The Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates Fall Antiques, Fine & Decorative Arts Auction contains a wide selection of material and will include everything from fine art and rare timepieces to miniature lighting and American art pottery. The large auction will take place over two days, Friday, October 12, 2018 and Saturday, October 13, 2018 with absentee, phone, internet, and in-house bidding available.

Friday’s session, beginning at 9:30 am, should start the weekend off with a bang and features American and European art glass from the estate collection of William A. Litle, Garden Grove, CA; part one of the Barbara and Moe Tourison miniature lighting collection; and a collection of antique and modern paperweights deaccessioned from the Strong Museum of Play, Rochester, NY. Highlights include New England Plated Amberina, Mt. Washington Royal Flemish, Tiffany, Daum Nancy, and a wide selection of paperweights by makers such as Debbie Tarsitano, Charles Kaziun, and Rick Ayotte.

Saturday’s session, beginning at 9:30 am, should prove to be equally exciting and features additional material from the William A. Litle estate collection, Garden Grove, CA; a fine Ohio private collection; the estate of Mrs. Lee Cochran, Staunton, VA; the collection of Maxine and the late Grymes Heneberger, Harrisonburg, VA; as well as property deaccessioned by Washington & Lee University, Lexington, VA; and the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, Pennsburg, PA. The day’s various offerings consist of a wide selection of British and Continental furniture and accessories; paintings, prints, and statuary; Asian material of all types; fine silver and jewelry; a 600+ piece collection of Staffordshire transferware and flow blue including many large serving pieces in patterns such as Fairy Villas (185 pieces), Nonpareil, Scinde, Ferrara, Wattau, etc.; additional 18th & 19th century ceramics; rare American art pottery; a fine collection of Mettlach steins; an exceptional grouping of fine clocks and timepieces; rare match safes; &c. Highlights include a Henry Capt dore bronze carriage clock with porcelain panels; a Tiffany & Co. 18K man’s pocket watch of Swiss manufacture; a Pierre Soulages (French, b. 1919) abstract etching (c. 1960); a Dufner & Kimberley Egyptian table lamp with reverse-painted shade; and a French enameled gilt-silver cigarette case featuring a portrait of a nude woman.

The complete catalogue for both days will be posted on the firm’s website around October 3 and will be available for absentee and live bidding through the new Jeffrey S. Evans LIVE platform, as well as Live Auctioneers and Invaluable. All lots will be on public preview at the firm’s gallery located at 2177 Green Valley Ln., Mt. Crawford, VA on October 10th and 11th from 10 am to 6 pm daily, and on October 12th and 13th from 8 am until the last lot is sold on each day.
