JSE&A Announces its 3rd Annual Textile, Costume, and Sewing Auction

Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates is pleased to announce its 3rd annual Textile, Costume, and Sewing Auction to be held July 14, 2018 beginning at 9:30 am ET. Consignments include material from the collection of Ruth D. Hunter, Richmond, VA; the collection of the late Irene Sarnelle, Staunton, VA; deaccessions from the Virginia Quilt Museum and the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA), to benefit the Collections and Acquisitions Funds; and others.

The auction comprises a fine offering of 18th through 20th century costumes and accessories, some with original family provenance; over ninety 19th and 20th century quilts; more than forty 18th and 19th century samplers; Shenandoah Valley and other coverlets; homespun blankets; Chinese and European textiles; antique lace; sewing implements; plus more.

The complete auction catalogue is now posted. The sale is on public preview July 11-13, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm daily, and July 14, 8:00 am until end of auction.
